Free Assistance to Arkansas Small Businesses

Arkansas Science and Technology Authority (ASTA)

ASTA operates an SBIR awareness program to help Arkansas-based businesses identify federal funds available through SBIR programs at 11 federal agencies. The Authority disseminates information on SBIR, including presolicitation notices, and helps business target proposals to the appropriate agencies for funding.

UALR Arkansas Small Business Development Center (ASBDC)

The Arkansas Small Business Development Center provides free one-to-one professional consulting for business owners and entrepreneurs. Help available to you includes:

  • Advice on operating challenges in your existing business

  • Review of your business plan and strategies

  • Guidance in starting your new business

  • Advice on purchases of existing businesses

  • Preparation of your loan request

  • Financial analysis and budget development

Arkansas Department of Economic Development

The Department's Small and Minority Business Staff will help you plan to start or expand your business in Arkansas. The staff, which specializes in the development and growth of small and minority businesses, can provide technical assistance such as marketing plans, financing and product or service development.

University of Arkansas I2 Innovation Incubator

I2 will provide a $10,000 credit for a company’s use for on-campus work and will also provide a funded microEP graduate student to work on the research evaluation. The graduate student will be jointly supervised by a microEP faculty member and the client. I2 will act as a facilitator to guide clients to other available services that are important to a fledgling company, such as aid in business plan development and location of funding sources, and the Genesis business incubator.
