LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will host a one-day Veterans Small Business School Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Jacksonville Community Center for military veterans who own or want to own a business.
The day will include training sessions, networking with other entrepreneurs and veteran service providers, testimonials from veteran business owners and a luncheon. Training sessions led by experienced small business consultants will offer practical tools and guidance. The morning "Marketing Bootcamp" session will explore guerrilla marketing, social media marketing and search engine optimization, while the afternoon session will focus on financing and procurement opportunities for veteran-owned small businesses. Fee for the full day including lunch is $20. Payment at the door will be accepted, but advanced registration is required. Each veteran attending may bring a business partner or spouse at no additional charge if both persons pre-register. The community center is located at 5 Municipal Dr. in Jacksonville. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by the opening session at 9 a.m.
The school is part of ASBTDC's continued outreach to veterans who are current or prospective small business owners and is funded in part through a grant award with the U.S. Small Business Administration. ASBTDC is a partnership of the SBA, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business and other institutions of higher education and serves new, existing and innovation-based small businesses through a statewide network of seven offices.
