LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Kelly B. Massey of Arkadelphia is the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center's 2010 State Star, Janet M. Roderick, ASBTDC state director, has announced. He was honored Sept. 24 at the National Association of Small Business Development Centers Annual Conference in San Antonio.
Massey received the State Star designation for being an exemplary performer and making a significant contribution to the Arkansas SBTDC program, Roderick said. He became center director of the ASBTDC at Henderson State University in August after serving two years as a business consultant.
"I am proud of Kelly's extraordinary work on behalf of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center," said Roderick. "He delivers outstanding service to his small business clients and this honor from the Association of Small Business Development Centers recognizes him as one of the best small business consultants in the nation."
The Small Business Development Center network is a partnership uniting private enterprise, government, higher education and local nonprofit economic development organizations. It is the Small Business Administration's largest partnership program, providing management and technical assistance to help Americans start, run and grow their own businesses. With about 1,000 centers across the nation, America's SBDC network provided business consulting to approximately 200,000 clients, training for more than 400,000 attendees, and other forms of management and technical assistance to approximately 600,000 small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs last year.
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center provides assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses through a statewide network of seven offices. The ASBTDC at Henderson State serves 10 counties in southwest Arkansas.
