UALR ASBDC Lead Center

Janet Roderick
Executive Director

The UALR Arkansas Small Business Development Center has been her direction since 1994. Roderick received both a Bachelor of Science in marketing/business education and a Master of Science in vocational/distributive education from the University of Wyoming. Prior to joining the ASBDC she was the state director at University of Hawaii Small Business Development Center from 1990 to1994 and University of Alaska Small Business Development Center from 1986 to 1990. She has experience in marketing, retail, personnel administration, and higher education instruction.



Victor Redditt
Associate Director

Victor Redditt joined UALR ASBDC September 1982. Redditt assists the director in the areas of policy development, budget planning and administration, grant and contract administration, and personnel administration. He has held several positions since joining the parent organization of the ASBDC in 1976, including interim director. He has a Bachelor of Art and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.



Laura Fine
Assistant State Director

Laura Fine joined the UALR ASBDC in 1989 as Assistant Training Coordinator. She has served as Training Coordinator and was named Assistant State Director in 1993. Prior to joining ASBDC, she was a Trainer with Levi Strauss & Company. Fine received a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.



James Atkinson
Market Researcher

Specialty Areas: Geodemographic tools and analysis to assist customers in developing targeted marketing strategies for their businesses

James Atkinson is presently in charge of providing market and business research to UALR ASBDC clients. Before joining the ASBDC, Atkinson worked both for government and the private sector, and also owned his own small business. His experience includes working as a financial analyst for several nationally known corporations including Hewlett Packard. He earned an undergraduate degree in political economy from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle.



Mildred Holley
Technology Programs Manager

Specialty Areas: Small business innovation research programs, innovation-based business development, technology transfer and commericalization

She works directly with Arkansas entrepreneurs who are interested in building science- and innovation-based firms. She is leading the UALR ASBDC’s delivery of technical assistance to start-up firms being established by UAMS researchers to commercialize results of their medical research. She also is a Certified Business Advisor for the Arkansas Small Business Development Center.



Heather Robinette
Consulting Manager

Specialty Areas: Financial Analysis, Family-owned Businesses, Capital Acquisition, and Growth Strategies for Existing Businesses

Heather Robinette has over 10 years experience as a Business Consultant with the UALR ASBDC. She received a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Economics from Ouachita Baptist University. Robinette is a Certified Business Advisor.



Allen Stanley
Entrepreneurial Development Specialist

Specialty Areas: Accounting

Allen Stanley joined the UALR ASBDC in 2000 as an Accountant and was promoted to Entrepreneurial Development Specialist in 2006. Stanley worked for First Commercial Mortgage Company and UALR Financial Services prior to joining the ASBDC. Stanley received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Arkansas and is a Certified Business Advisor®.



Charles Hunter
Business Consultant

Specialty Areas: General Business

Before joining the UALR ASBDC, Hunter worked for International Business Machines Corporation for 32 years. He’s been a business consultant with the UALR ASBDC since November 2006. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.



Michael Singleton
Business Consultant

Specialty Areas: Accounting, Retail Management, Human Resource Management

Singleton joined the Henderson State University Small Business Development Center in 2004 and moved to the UALR Lead Center in 2007. Singleton has a B. B. A. in Accounting from Henderson State University. Singleton is also a Certified Business Advisor®. Prior work experiences include retail management and accounting and human resource management for a manufacturing firm. Michael was awarded the 2007 State Star distinction by the National Association of Small Business Development Centers.



Shannon Roberts
Training Coordinator

Specialty Areas: Marketing and event planning

Shannon Roberts joined UALR ASBDC in November 2007. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has experience in small business ownership, event planning, insurance, and public speaking in the private sector. Call Shannon today if you are interested in volunteering your expertise or sponsorship in the Lead Center’s training program.



Timothy Lee
Training Specialist

Specialty Areas: eCommerce, GIS, Disaster Preparedness, Veterans

Timothy Lee joined the UALR ASBDC June 1995. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. He holds three additional Associate level degrees in applied avionics, liberal arts, and emergency management. Timothy is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from active service in July of 1995 at the rank of Master Sergeant.



Jennifer Bonds
Training Manager

Specialty Areas: Marketing, Stakeholder Relations, Legislative Efforts, and Cosponsor Relations

Jennifer Bonds joined the UALR ASBDC in 2000 as a Training Coordinator and was named Training Manager in 2003. Bonds worked for U.S. Congressman Ray Thornton and the Criminal Justice Institute’s prior to joining the ASBDC. She received a master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a bachelor’s degree in International Economics from the University of Central Arkansas. She is a Certified Business Advisor® as well as a graduate of the Community Development Institute.



Charlotte Green
Accountant

Charlotte Green joined the UALR SBDC administration in February 2006. She brings with her more than 15 years of public and private sector experience in the accounting field. Her primary responsibility is the administrative network maintenance of all Arkansas SBDC financial, programmatic, and management information system records and reports. Charlotte obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1992.



 

Shirley Graves
Administrative Assistant

Shirley Graves brings over 14 years of professional administrative experience to our organization since joining in June 2006. Having obtained a Professional Technical Writing degree from UALR in 2005; she remains an active member of the Society of Technical Communicators. She is currently pursing a post-baccalaureate degree in accounting.



 

Arkansas State University SBDC

Herb Lawrence
Center Director

Specialty Areas: SBA Government Lending, Business Valuations, Cash Flow Analysis

The ASU SBDC has been under his direction since November of 1996. He obtained an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas (1984). He served on the faculty at Lyon College (then Arkansas College) in Batesville, and in the administration of University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville. He was awarded the "2000 Resource Partner of the Year Award" given by the SBA and the "State Star" for Arkansas by the Association of Small Business Development Centers in 2002. He is a Certified Business Advisor®.



Laura Miller
Business Consultant

Specialty Areas: Business Plan Assistance, Loan Proposal Development

Miller joined the ASU SBDC in September 2000 and has over 11 years of business consulting and economic development experience. She obtained an MBA from Pittsburg State University, undergraduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and previously worked as a small business consultant at the Pittsburg State University Small Business Development Center. She is a Certified Business Advisor®.



Susan Glasgow
Training Coordinator

Specialty Areas: Marketing, Small Business Ownership, Business Professionalism and Etiquette

Glasgow began employment with the ASU SBDC in January 2006. She taught six years on a university level in the College of Business at Arkansas State University (ASU) and Black River Technical College. She was the owner of a retail business in Jonesboro for over 17 years. She obtained an MBA from Arkansas State University. She is a Certified Business Advisor®.



Lois Travis
Administrative Assistant

Travis has been with the ASU SBDC since its beginning at ASU in 1981. She serves as the initial contact with our clients in providing them the necessary information concerning our small business workshops. She has worked for the ASU College of Business for over 26 years and has been employed by ASU for 31 years.



 

Henderson State University SBDC

Lonnie Jackson
Center Director

Specialty Areas: Retail Management, Small Business Management

The Henderson State University Small Business Development Center has been under his direction since July of 2000. Jackson has a B.S. in Management and a MBA from HSU. Jackson is also a Certified Business Advisor. Jackson has over five years of experience with a major retail company where he served in management roles. Jackson and his wife have owned a small business in Arkadelphia for the past fourteen years.



Kelly Massey, SPHR
Business Consultant

Specialty Areas: Human Resources Management/Development, Large Multi-site Manufacturing Management, Lean Manufacturing, Market Based Management™

Massey joined the Henderson State University Small Business Development Center in 2008 as a Business Consultant. He earned a B.B.A. in Business Management from Henderson State University. Massey is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources Management with eleven years prior experience in manufacturing and the hospitality industry.



Jwan Baughn
Training Coordinator

Specialty Areas: Marketing, Small Business Management

Baughn is a Certified Business Advisor. Her prior experience includes small business ownership, retail, and mortgages. Baughn earned a Masters in International Business from Webster University and received a B.A. in Marketing from Henderson State University.



Deanna Gourley
Administrative Assistant

Deanna joined HSU SBDC in 2007. She provides administrative support by handling information requests, office workflow and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, and scheduling meetings.



 

Southern Arkansas University SBDC

Paul Considine
Center Director

Specialty Areas: Manufacturing, Plant Layout, Project Management

He has been with the SAU SBDC since September of 2002 when the center was established. Prior to joining the SBDC he was employed in both large and small businesses and held positions in engineering, product development, plant management and sales. Paul received a B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and recently completed instruction for the University of Toledo to become a Certified Business Advisor®.



Felicia Bozeman
Training Coordinator

Bozeman has been with SAU SBDC since August 2005. She received both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Henderson State University. She became a Certified Business Advisor® through the University of Toledo.



 

UA Fayetteville SBDC

Larry Brian
Center Director

Specialty Areas: Business Planning and Management, Financial Planning, and Start-up Requirements

Brian joined the SBDC as a Business Consultant and soon after, in March 2007, was promoted to Center Director. His previous experience includes ownership and management of several small businesses including a consultant and financial planning business. He has more than 19 years of banking experience including tenure as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas and is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Graduate School of Banking.



Bill Fox
Business Consultant

Specialty Areas: Human Resources, Marketing, Management and Operations

Fox joined the UAF SBDC in May 2007. He is a former small business owner and has lending experience as a Banker/Loan officer with Bank of America. Fox has also worked in higher education as Director of a student enterprise program at the University of Pennsylvania, as Coordinator for a Disability Services program at Broward (FL) Community College and as a Job Developer for Florida Atlantic University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from West Virginia University.



Jessica Breaux
Training Coordinator

Specialty Areas: Public Relations and Marketing, Business Start-up Requirements, and Business Planning

Breaux relocated to Fayetteville from Natchitoches, Louisiana, in 2006. Before joining the SBDC, she was employed by the City of Natchitoches in various capacities including public relations, event planning, and the Natchitoches Main Street Program. She received a B.A. in journalism and public relations from Northwestern State University, in Natchitoches. She is currently pursuing a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas.



Shirley Johnson
Administrative Assistant

Johnson is a 10-year veteran of the SBDC program and brings a wealth of experience to the position. Her career history includes work with federal, municipal and school administration including the USDA. Prior to coming to the SBDC, she was the Administrator for United Community Services in Fayetteville from 1984 to 1996



 

UA Fort Smith SBDC

Vonelle Vanzant
Center Director

Specialty Areas: Finance and Accounting, Business Plan Review, General Management

Vonelle Vanzant joined the Arkansas Small Business Development Center in 1993 and worked as a field consultant in the Pine Bluff Regional Office prior to transferring to Fort Smith in 1997. In addition to administering the UA Fort Smith ASBDC program, she provides consulting on a variety of topics, assists clients in obtaining financing, and conducts, presents and facilitates business training in an eight-county area of Western Arkansas. She received her BBA in accounting and information systems from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and her MBA from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She is also a Texas licensed CPA and a Certified Business Advisor. Prior to joining the ASBDC program, she operated an accounting practice in Texas.

Kathryn Peacock
Center Director

Specialty Areas: Retail merchandising and human resources

Kathryn Peacock, Center Director: The UAM SBDC has been under her direction since January 2002. Peacock received a BSBA in Marketing and General Business from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She achieved the designation of Certified Business Advisor® from the University of Toledo. Peacock has a wide range of experience in wholesale, retail, and manufacturing enterprises.



 

Carma Sloan
Administrative Assistant

Before joining the UAM SBDC in 2004, Sloan had been employed in accounting and human resource functions for 16 years with a paper manufacturer. She is a “people person” noted for her customer service skills. She majored in Business at ASTC (now University of Central Arkansas).
