The Recovery Act: What's In It for Small Business?
by Gwen Green, Communication Coordinator, UALR Lead Center

Small business owners can get the facts about no-interest, no-fee loans and other small business financing provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at free events that start Monday around Arkansas.

"The Recovery Act: What's In It for Small Business?," a three-hour seminar, will be presented in six locations between Oct. 5 and 14:

- Arkadelphia, Oct. 5
- Jonesboro, Oct. 6
- Monticello, Oct. 7
- Little Rock, Oct. 8
- Magnolia, Oct. 13
- Springdale, Oct. 14

The U.S. Small Business Administration and Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center are hosting the events aimed at start-up and existing small businesses.

Small business owners that need help with debt payments in the slow economy can learn about SBA's America's Recovery Capital (ARC) loan program offering no-interest and no-fee loans. Other topics include dealer floor plan financing and tax incentives.

"The Recovery Act contains numerous provisions to help stabilize a small business and better position it to grow as the economy smooths out," said Linda Nelson, Arkansas SBA district director. "There is help, and small business owners are not in this alone."

There is no charge to attend the three-hour seminars, but pre-registration is requested. Register online at http://asbtdc.ualr.edu/recovery or call the ASBTDC at (800) 862-2040.
