Updated Flu Guidance for Businesses and Employers
by Timothy Lee, Associate Extension Specialist, UALR Lead Center
The U.S. government has released new federal guidelines to help employers and businesses prepare for and respond to the upcoming flu season, including H1N1 (Swine Flu).
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with input from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has developed updated guidance for employers of all sizes to use as they prepare to respond to H1N1 now and during the upcoming fall and winter influenza season. Businesses and employers play a key role in protecting employees' health and safety, as well as in limiting the negative impact of influenza outbreaks on the individual, the community and the nation's economy.
