Growing Your Business in Difficult Economic Times Seminar to Help Small Business Owners
by Susan Glasgow, Training Coordinator, ASU SBDC

“Awareness, Knowledge, Utilization, and Action” are what Arkansas businessmen and women need to be focusing on during these tumult times in our economic environment. Being aware of the situation, seeking knowledge and utilizing that information to plan effectively, and taking action are extremely important.

“The economy is certainly not in an official recession at the present time”, said Herb Lawrence, Center Director for the ASU SBDC, “but there is no question that many companies are feeling the pinch of slowed consumer spending combined with higher costs to do business due in part to rising fuel prices.” Growing Your Business In Difficult Economic Times – Is Your Business Recession Proof? is a three-hour seminar designed to help business owners learn to survey their economic environment for warning signs, develop affordable and effective marketing techniques to keep strong relationships with their customers, and find ways to improve their overall cash flow through simple financial planning tools. Examples of how some businesses go against the grain to grow even during economic down turns will be given.

Several offerings of this seminar are available in October and November in Jonesboro, Batesville, and Mountain Home.

This seminar is being offered at NO CHARGE though co-sponsorships from the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, East Arkansas Planning & Development District, Heritage Bank, Liberty Bank of Arkansas, Simmons First Bank, and Arkansas Capital Corporation Group.

To register or for more information contact the ASU Small Business Development Center at (870) 972-3517 or go online to the ASU SBDC website http://sbdc.astate.edu.
