Defense Software Strategy Summit
by Mildred Holley, Technology Programs Manager

Software development entrepreneurs and researchers interested in DoD software concerns and needs have the opportunity to participate in an upcoming forum on the subject. The National Defense Industrial Association and the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology are sponsoring a two-day Defense Software Strategy Summit on October 18-19 at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA. Sponsors invite you to provide insights, experiences, best practices and recommendations related to software acquisition, engineering and resources. Summit outcomes will be used to help develop policy, guidance and investments to address DoD software concerns.

Four parallel workshop tracks will be offered for participants. These tracks, and recommended audiences, are:
• Software acquisition (program managers, sofware/system engineers, software architects, costers),
• Policy and guidance (HQ staffs, program executive offices, program managers),
• Human capital (educators, practitioners),
• Software engineering practices (developers, testers, practitioners).

Registration fees are $450 and $500, depending on the registrant's affiliation. Log on to www.ndia.org for additional details on the program and for online registration. Follow the Schedule of Events link under Meetings & Events.
