Commerce Issues SBIR Pre-Solicitation Notice

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a unit of the U.S. Department of Commerce, has announced that it will release its 2007 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Solicitation on or about October 3, 2006. NOAA expects to make multiple Phase I awards that will provide small firms up to $95,000 and 6 months to perform proof-of-concept research.

NOAA's topics in this solicitation will be:
1. Ecosystems,
2. Climate,
3. Weather and Water,
4. Commerce and Transportation.

SBIR is available only to U.S. small businesses, and provides federal agency funds to research innovative ideas that match the agency's research interests. For additional information about NOAA's SBIR program, visit www.ago.noaa.gov/ad/sbirs.
