Louisville Hosts National SBIR Conference
by Mildred Holley, Technology Programs Manager
We encourage Arkansas entrepreneurs and researchers to take advantage of the upcoming Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Conference that will be held on May 15-18 in Louisville, KY. This national conference is sponsored by the federal agencies that award research funds to small businesses to enable them to conduct innovative technical and scientific research. The conference offers lots of opportunities to meet agency representatives one-on-one and discuss research interests with them. You can get useful feedback to help you prepare research proposals that address the agencies' needs and interests.
Only at the national SBIR conferences that are held twice a year do you get the chance to meet and network with so many SBIR/STTR program managers from most of the agencies. It is an excellent way to maximize your networking and information gathering so that you compete effectively for the more than $2 billion in annual research awards.
