Special Edition: IRS News Briefs Related to Hurricanes
by Laura Fine, Assistant State Director

This is the second of a two-part special edition of Biz Bytes focusing on disaster assistance provided to small businesses. In this edition, we focus on IRS tax relief for businesses affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

As Arkansas is serving as host to evacuees who were victims of these hurricanes, we want to provide information that will be passed on by recipients of Biz Bytes.

Information presented was obtained from the IRS website at: http://www.irs.gov/.

The Arkansas SBDC will provide assistance to businesses affected by disasters including SBA disaster loan applications and assisting businesses with getting copies of past tax returns. Call 1-800-862-2040 or 501-324-9043 to request assistance from the nearest office or visit the ASBDC website at: http://asbdc.ualr.edu/ for a listing of offices.
