Air Force Launches SBIR/STTR Grant Mall
by Mildred Holley, Technology Programs Manager

The Air Force recently announced the establishment of a Virtual Shopping Mall to highlight its SBIR/STTR technology successes. The intent is to make SBIR technology and market information easier to find and to increase opportunities for commercialization and partnering.

The Air Force SBIR/STTR Shopping Mall will be a central source for information and points of contact for small businesses, government agencies and defense contractors. Mall content is being developed as the site matures. Current materials available or planned for site users include a database that can be browsed by firm, DoD technical topic area, goverment office and state. Commercialization success impact stories can be viewed or downloaded. Listings of Phase I and Phase II abstracts for firms receiving Air Force SBIR/STTR awards are included in the database.

The Air Force Virtual SBIR/STTR Shopping Mall can be accessed at www.sbirsttrmall.com. Be sure to explore the impact stories under the electronic library section for a sample of the types of technologies funded by Air Force.
