The EDPplus Loan/Grant Program
by Heather Robinette, Business Consultant, UALR Lead Center

EDPplus is a combination loan and grant program through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. The program is designed to promote and enhance economic development in underserved areas. Thus, businesses located in low income areas, employing low income individuals, or servicing low income individuals are eligible for the program.

The maximum grant amount in the EDPplus program is $25,000 and can be no more than 15% of the total project. The grant must be matched by an equal equity contribution by the business owner also representing 15% of the total project. The remaining 70% of the project is a loan.

In order to apply for the program, a business must work through a member institution of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. Many lenders in Arkansas are member institutions of the Federal Home Loan Bank. For more information on this program and a list of member institutions visit www.fhlb.com.
