Meetup.com Brings Entrepreneurs Together
by Timothy Lee, Associate Extension Specialist

Meetup.com, a free Internet service, is bringing groups of people with common interests together in local coffee shops, bowling alleys, and restaurants. Over 400,000 people in over 500 cities worldwide are meeting monthly to discuss any of over 1400 topics. Two of these topics are small business and entrepreneurs. The gatherings, or meetups, are a great way to network and make new contacts. Hosting a meetup is a good way for businesses to boost food and drink sales on slow mid-week nights. As more people join, more cities and meeting venues are added.
