Graphical divider bars used sparingly.    
Background images kept small using lowest resolution JPEG format.    
Very large documents left as a normal word processing document which a reader can view a brief summary online and then have the option to download and view the full version offline.    
Thumbnail versions of images linked to larger graphics.    
Advisories provided for links to bandwidth intensive content, or plugin-dependent content, and alternatives provided.    
Front page has link to information about the content and purpose of site.    
Customer Navigation
Headings included on long, multi-part documents.    
Navigation headers duplicated at the bottom of pages.    
“Return to" or "back" buttons and links avoided. Destination of the link described in absolute terms.    
If graphic navigation buttons are used, provide "redundant" text labels.    
Brief table of contents at the top of the page.    
HTML title reflects the textual page title.    
Search feature, if more than 50 pages.    
Customer Printing    
Information presented in small or moderate size segments with links to subsequent segments. (Currently, a 640 x 480 screen resolution is the default).    
Home pages and tables of contents are one to one and a half screens in length.    
Accessibility by Disabled
Images & animations: use the alt attribute to describe the function of each visual.    
Image maps use client-side MAP and text for hotspots.    
Captioning and transcripts of audio, and descriptions of video provided.    
Provide text equivalents for all non-text elements.    
Hypertext links. Use text that makes sense when read out of context. For example, avoid "click here."    
Page organization. Use headings, lists, and consistent structure. Use Cascading Style Sheets for layout and style where possible.    
Graphs & charts. Summarize or use the longdesc attribute.    
Scripts, applets, & plug-ins. Provide alternative content in case active features are inaccessible or unsupported.    
Frames: use NOFRAMES and meaningful titles.    
Tables. Make line by line reading sensible. Summarize.    
Check your work. Validate. Use tools and guidelines at www.w3.org/TR/WCAG.
