Terra Tots Natural Parenting
Bernice and Brian Hembree, Owners
Fayetteville, Arkansas

While most new businesses are focused on their own sustainability, Terra Tots Natural Parenting also wants to ensure the survival of the planet.

Bernice and Brian Hembree own the only store of its kind in Arkansas. Terra Tots sells organic clothing, cloth diapers, environmentally friendly toys, and natural home products.

The store opened on the Fayetteville square in November 2007. The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, ASBTDC assisted the Hembrees with their business plan, market and industry research, financial projections, and marketing and management advice. Terra Tots was also a partner business for a student project coordinated by the ASBTDC for Professor Mark Zwieg's Entrepreneurship class.

The success the Hembrees have experienced with their Fayetteville location has led the couple to establish a second store in Bentonville, scheduled to open in early 2009.
