Luxe
Juliette Ballinger & Jennifer Yount, Owners
Rogers, Arkansas

Juliette Ballinger and Jennifer Yount wanted to bring something unique to Northwest Arkansas, a spa that offered products and services not found anywhere else in the state. After attending a Starting a Business in Arkansas seminar, Ballinger met with Lance Sexton, Center Director of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville SBDC, in October 2000. Over the next eleven months Ballinger, Yount, and Sexton fine-tuned a business plan. Sexton assisted Ballinger and Yount in preparing a SBA LowDoc loan, and the loan was funded by Arkansas National Bank in August 2001. Ballinger and Yount's dream came true in September 2001, when they opened Luxe, a full-service salon and day spa in Village on the Creeks in Rogers.

Luxe met with great success and the business continued to grow. Ballinger and Yount came back to the SBDC in April 2002 for assistance with their desire to expand. Sexton assisted in the preparation of a second SBA LowDoc loan with the Arkansas National Bank, and these funds were used to increase Luxe's product inventory. Luxe has a well-rounded staff that includes former employees of the Biltmore resorts and the Four Seasons. At Luxe, you will find an atmosphere of complete pampering and relaxation when you enjoy services such as Crystal Resurfacing, Salt Go-Glow, and the Deep Sea Twist.
